Some Fall Goodies

Hello Dolls!!!  Aren't you LOVING this weather here in AZ?  The overcast days are really making me excited for the fall.  I am so glad it is here.  I have been baking up a storm and have probably gained a few pounds as proof!  On Sunday I made peach cobbler... oh man was it divine, thanks to my mom for sending over fresh peaches from Utah.  The warm cobbler with the cold vanilla bean ice cream was just amazing.  Find the recipe HERE.  I also made homemade rolls on Sunday for company.  We had some of the Hubs buddies over for dinner that were in town.  I wish I could share THAT recipe with you...however it is my mom's, and a family treasure.  It really is gold, the best rolls you will ever taste.  Today I made pumpkin bread and that too is amazing!  I will post that recipe very soon... I have tried many MANY pumpkin bread recipes, and this one is just the BEST.. truly the GREATEST!  Okay, enough about food, even though I could talk food all day!  Onto some other deliciousness...fall wardrobes!  Oh yeah baby. Wrap it up

Trend Spotting: Polka Dots

I haven't always been a huge fan of Polka Dots.  For some reason whenever I wear them I feel like a little girl, not the grown-up momma that I am.  However, I have definitely been swayed by this seasons polka dots.  I am changing my ways for sure as this  trend is emerging into the fall season.  I really got some fashion inspiration after grabbing these photos.  Enjoy dolls and go have some fun with the grown up version of Polka Dots!

Fashion Foward Friday - "The Layered Look"

It's Friday!  I'm singing a song about that one.  I get to babysit my cute nephews tonight, and I can hardly wait.  Captain Character and Mr. Happy Pants love having their cousins over.  We are going to have some fun making homemade bouncy balls, eating NY style pizza (must be folded), and whipping up some cookies.  We might even have a dance party if I'm feeling crazy enough... but I am crazy so that is a most likely possibility.  Anyway,  I have a GREAT look book for you today in the fashion dept.  Layers.  One word, great look.  I ADORE anything layered.  Layered cake, layered salad, layered necklaces, layered linens, layered clothing, layered photos, you catch my drift.  I gathered up some of my fav layered looks for Fashion Friday.  Enjoy Ladies!

Fashion Foward Friday - "Aztec Prints"

It's Friday!  My boys have survived the first week of school and they love it!  Phew!  What a sigh of relief.  I majorly broke down when I sent them off the first day, I miss my boys so much when they are gone.  Those kiddos are my life!  To keep me busy while they are away at school I have been swooning over the new Aztec prints that are everywhere for the fall.  I love the hippie vibe they send off, and I really am enjoying the print on a tunic style.  Pair this with leggings and cognac knee boots for the fall and you have yourself a winning combo!  Enjoy your day Loves!  I know I will be tonight as we head to the DBacks game with my hubby, kiddos, and the hubs friend.  Don't worry, I'll eat a churro and hot dog for you.

Fashion Foward Friday - "Statement Rings"

A big, bold statement ring is definitely one of my accessories of choice.  If asked whether I would choose a bangle or cocktail ring, the ring would win by a land slide.  My love affair with statement rings is borderline obsessive and unhealthy.  I have so many vintage inspired rings that they are spilling out of my jewelery cache.  I could look at them all day, little bits of beauty and perfection.  Some of my favs for the summer are my turquoise and aged gold ring that is HUGE, and I also love my mother of pearl little white lovely.  Somehow I always feel complete after slipping one of those babies on.  Enjoy your Friday babes, and please do yourself a favor and wear a fabulous statement ring this weekend.  You'll be so happy you did.

Fashion Foward Friday - "White Wash"

In my opinion there is nothing more classic for summer,as far as fashion is concerned, than a white dress.  Long, short, linen, gauze, cotton, silk, poplin... any fabric or cut, a white dress is best for any summer occasion.  With a few months left of our sunny summertime I plan on wearing white a great deal.

Colored Denim is everywhere right now.  Summer exudes vibrant colors and although it is a little hot here in AZ, I can't help but adore this current trend.  My favorite colored skinnies are from Rag and Bone and J Brand.  Anthropology has a some great eye candy in the denim depot as well.  Enjoy the rainbow of Denim!

All American Past time...Baseball!



When I think of Baseball I think of all American, hot dogs, warm weather, and summer evening.  With the fourth of July coming up I thought it would be appropriate to get everyone in the patriotic spirit.  My Husband used to play for the Toronto Blue Jays so baseball is huge at our house.  My boys love it and my hubby lives it.  For fathers day we took my Dad and Momma to the "old ballgame".  We enjoyed hot dogs, popcorn, and a beautiful summer evening.  Play Ball Y'all!
